Shincheonji Church of Jesus undertook a full-scale discussion in early June and released a statement that the church's plasma donation will be given to the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for the development and treatment of a COVID-19 vaccine.
Although there has been a delay in coordinating a large-scale plasma donation, the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention informed on the 9th of July that a plasma donation of 500 donors is possible with the support of the Korean Red Cross, who will provide three buses for blood plasma collection.
A total of 500 people will donate their plasma over the course of 5 days, from the 13th to 17th of July; a Korean Red Cross vehicle will be stationed outside the front gate of Kyung Pook National University Hospital.
In addition, as the country is suffering from the COVID-19 crisis, congregants of Shincheonji Church of Jesus decided against receiving transportation expenses that are normally offered to plasma donors.
We sincerely pray that the plasma donation by the congregants of Shincheonji Daegu church will be a step forward to ending the COVID-19 crisis in Korea and the world.
Hello, this is Shincheonji Church of Jesus.
Shincheonji Church of Jesus will give plasma donations for the second time as a group, as a quick vaccine development for COVID-19 is becoming even more necessary with the recent re-spreading of the virus.
Plasma donations of Shincheonji Church of Daegu will take place for seven days from August 27th to September 4th (except on Saturday and Sunday). About 1,100 Shincheonji members who have completely recovered from COVID-19 plan to participate in this plasma donation at the Daegu Athletics Promotion Center (160 people per day).
During the first group plasma drive (July 13th-17th), 409 members of Shincheonji Church of Daegu had participated with an additional 219 participating members who joined the effort separately. A total of 628 members have completed donating their plasma as of August 26th.
With the completion of the second group plasma drive, a total of about 1,700 members will have donated their plasma.
Chairman Lee Man-hee has also encouraged active participation from the members who have completely recovered to donate their plasma through a letter dated August 25th by saying, “Let us lead the effort in plasma donation so that the blood (plasma) of the congregation members who have been atoned for their sins by the blood of Jesus can be used for overcoming COVID-19 for the citizens and the country.”
Shincheonji Church of Jesus has never forgotten our apology given for causing much concern and worry to the people of Korea, with many confirmed cases that came about in February and March. We will continue to be in close cooperation with the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and give our utmost effort to overcome COVID-19.
* Donation Period: August 27th (Thu) - September 4th (Fri) – for 7 days (except Saturday and Sunday)
* Time: 9 AM - 5 PM
* Location: Daegu Athletics Promotion Center (Misulgwan-ro 88 Suseong-gu, Daegu)
We welcome the court’s decision that found Chairman Lee innocent of the charge regarding the Infectious Disease Control and Prevention Act.
However, we find the court’s decision that acknowledged criminality in other charges, including embezzlement, deeply regrettable and disappointing.
For the charges that have not been ruled innocent, we plan to actively prove his innocence through the appeals process, and stand trial before a court of law once again.
On a separate note, we promise to continue in our effort to end the COVID-19 pandemic, and diligently serve as light and salt of the world.
Lastly, we apologize to the citizens of this nation for causing worries and concerns regarding this matter.

On 3 February, the Daegu District Court acquitted Shincheonji Daegu Church on charges of violating the Infectious Disease Control and Prevention Act.
Shincheonji Daegu Church respects the court’s decision and wishes to sincerely apologize and comfort the local residents who have been affected by COVID-19.
Although there was a large scale outbreak that lasted for a month and a half from 18 February 2020, there have been zero additional confirmed patients as of 2 April 2020 until today.
This was possible due to the close cooperation between the quarantine authorities, medical staff, and residents.
A total of 3,741 congregation members participated in three group blood plasma donations and learned that the only way to overcome COVID-19 is through inclusivity, love, and unity.
Regardless of the outcome of the trial, Shincheonji Daegu Church will continue to take responsibility in matters regarding the COVID-19 outbreak and promises to contribute to society and the eradication of COVID-19.
We welcome the court’s acquittal decision regarding the Infectious Disease Control and Prevention Act.
Through today’s ruling, every member of Shincheonji Church of Jesus who had been indicted with the charge of violating the Infectious Disease Control and Prevention Act has been found innocent.
Regardless of the outcome of the trial, we—Shincheonji Church of Jesus—pledge to continue in our effort to eradicate COVID-19 and diligently strive to be the light and salt in society.
Lastly, we would like to express our regret in causing concern to the citizens of South Korea.

Today (14 March) marks
the 37th Anniversary of
Shincheonji Church of Jesus.
For the past 38 years, Shincheonji has been preaching the gospel of fulfillment to the prophecies of the New Testament while practicing faith in accordance with the Bible.
In particular, with the importance of the community’s health and safety emphasized once again through the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, Shincheonji has been praying and doingits best to help our community overcome and recover from the pandemic.
Since last year to date, Shincheonji has converted its offline religious activities to online, including not only services, but also group meetings, and education programs, and this is a first since its foundation.
The past year proved to be a time for Shincheonji to realize once again how important the word of the Bible is in leading a life of faith as the members built their faith through words preached online, transcending physical distances, and how crucial it is for members of the society to care for each other to promote the well-being of the society as a whole.
Shincheonji will continue to practice faith based on the Bible.
Concurrently, Shincheonji will do its best to be exemplary in society by being the salt and light of the world.
