[Bzeronews] Incheon Shincheonji Volunteer Group Participates in the ‘Saving the River Project’.

Beads of sweat fall from the foreheads of Shincheonji volunteers since this morning due to the heat wave. On ‘Service Day’, Shincheonji Volunteers move forward with the busy day ahead of them by helping one another put on yellow vests while holding cleaning tools, gunny sacks, and red gloves.

On July 21st, Incheon Shincheonji Volunteer group (branch leader Young ju Yoo) participated in cleaning activities hosted by Samgok Network. About 30 participants volunteered in the Saving the River Project from the Samgok River to Robotland.

The purpose of this volunteer event was to support private sector water quality preservation activities. However due to the local elections, the event was temporarily postponed last month. Fortunately, the volunteer event was resumed with many companies and organizations participating with much success.

The participating organizations included the Shinchonji Volunteer Corps, SK Incheon Petrochemical, POSCO Energy, Incheon Chain of the Great Nature Movement, the Global Econnet, and the Incheon Environmental Movement Coalition.

A representative from Shincheonji Volunteer Service responded to the event by commenting, "I was grateful that several organizations have been serving in the spirit of sacrifice while having droplets of sweat fall from their heads," he said. "I hope that we will continue to collaborate with one another in volunteer activities with opportunities like this."

Admist many volunteer opportunities, Incheon branch of Shincheonji Volunteer Corps provide “Health Doctor Visits for the Health of the Underprivileged And Foreign Residents In Korea,” “Storytelling through Murals by Improving the Broken and Damaged Walls,” Pink Sack Lunch Program to Deliver Lunch to The Elderly Living Alone,” “Environmental Cleanup,” “Korean War Veteran Commemoration (Seoul National Cemetary)”, and “5th National Love Peace Sharing Event,” within the last month.
