Prior to the United Nations Day, the event was held to pay tribute to patriotic martyrs who were sacrificed to keep 'peace' on this land.

50 members of Shincheonji volunteer Daejeon branch (manager Jang Bang Sik) visited the National Cemetery in Daejeon on 16th of August to pay tribute and clean the cemetery for patriotic martyrs who were sacrificed for the country.

Jeong Myeong Suk who cleaned the cemetery said "I felt said thinking that my husband or children might be buried here when cleaning the cemetery. I could feel the pain of not only those who died but also families who are left."

A youth who volunteered for the first time said "When looking at soldiers' grave who was the same age as me, I am grateful to the noble sacrifice of those who devoted their lives to protect the country. I am hoping that the wave of peace in South and North Korea which is carrying on right now can lead to practical cessation of war and peaceful reunification so that there will be no war on the Korean Peninsula anymore."

Meanwhile, Shincheonji volunteer Daejeon branch is practicing the role of light and salt in the community through various volunteer works including the pink cloth delivering warmth, door2(to)door healthcare, delivering briquette and painting mural. Also, in every June, they are carrying out 'Love for all nations & Sharing of peace' wishing peace and unification in the Korean Peninsula.

The United Nations Day was established to commemorate the creation of the United Nations on October 24, 1945.
